About jude

“Design is my passion; I am happiest when I am in the flow of the design process.”

Jude Bailey is a multi-disciplinary designer. Drawing upon her award-winning career in interior architecture & design, she creates structural, wearable art in her Bradford-on-Avon studio. Her unique statement pieces are not just for cocktail hour; they demand to be seen.

Jude studied interior architecture at Middlesex University London and went on to work in the UK, Europe and Asia. She was Design Director for BDG Workfuture in Asia before becoming joint owner of design company Innovation in Hong Kong. She has been awarded for her interior design services in the UK and Asia, and lectured in interior architecture at degree level in Hong Kong.

On moving to Sydney, Jude was a founding member of BANG biodegradable bags, a Fair Trade company working with brac, an NGO in Bangladesh. BANG was awarded the NSW Government ‘Keep Australia Beautiful’ award for their jute shopping bag.

On her return to Hong Kong Jude co-founded a boutique, design-led events company ‘Events for Life’ which was renowned for its creative solutions to client requirements.

Throughout her adult life Jude has always had an interest in jewellery and, after studying at GIA and Hattons Jewellery Institute, she launched Jude Bailey Design in 2020. Jude is developing her style by using her learned traditional jewellery methods and taking that knowledge into CAD. Her philosophy in life is carried through to her designs; she believes in questioning the traditional and following her own path. Whilst all pieces are designed and brought to life by Jude, she commissions experts in their fields to finish special pieces.

Jude’s bespoke pieces are one of a kind, and many are developed around the stones, all of which are sourced from Brazil. Jude uses her Fair Trade experience to work closely with small, fairly traded companies to keep her work ethically grounded. She fell in love with rutilated quartz and knew immediately that she wanted to include it in her collections. Together with CORIAN, semi-precious and precious stones including aquamarine, amethyst and diamonds, brass and recycled metals, Jude continues her philosophy of not following traditional expectations of what jewellery should or shouldn’t be.
